Adult Dental

White Mountain Community Health Center offers dental hygiene to adults who are registered as a patient, the parent or guardian of a registered patient, and to our staff. This includes visits with our dental hygienist for cleanings, exams, X-rays, and other basic hygiene treatment, as well as visits with our dentist for exams and to discuss further treatment.

We do not provide fillings for cavities or other restorative treatment. However, the dentist and hygienist can work with you to create a treatment plan and refer you to other practices for this.

Arriving at your appointment

Please arrive ten minutes early to your appointment when possible. In this way, we might be able to take you a bit early if the dental staff does not have a patient when you arrive. If you are more than 15 minutes late for your assigned appointment time, we will not be able to see you as this would make all subsequent appointments late as well. We strive to be on time as we know our patients have other commitments and they count on our timeliness to meet them.

No show and cancellation policy

In order to accommodate the many adults who need dental services, it is our policy that patients will contact us at least 24 hours before their appointment when cancellation is necessary. If an appointment is missed without this notice, we will charge a $25 fee and this fee must be paid before you make another dental appointment with us. It is also our policy to make an adult dental patient inactive if they miss two appointments within a 12-month period of time without the appropriate notice. As an inactive patient you cannot be seen in our dental program except for same-day appointments. However, this does not affect your status as a medical patient.

Fee scale

The health center has a sliding fee scale in order for people to receive services who have limited income. In order to be placed on the fee scale you will need to meet with a navigator prior to your dental appointment to document your income level. The navigator can also assess your qualification for other insurances and assist you with the application.

The dental fee scale does not apply to visits you make to other practices the dentist or hygienist have referred you to for restorative dental work. However, many practices provide payment plans and other ways to make this work affordable. Please discuss with the dentist or hygienist if the restorative services they suggest are going to be difficult for you to afford.
