Hannaford bag program beneficiary for April
White Mountain Community Health Center has been selected as a beneficiary of the Hannaford Cause Bag program for the month of April.
Hannaford created this program to support local nonprofits. For every Fight Hunger bag with the message "This bag has helped feed someone in need" purchased at the North Conway Hannaford, the health center will receive a $0.25 donation. This will help fulfill White Mountain Community Health Center's mission of providing comprehensive, high quality primary care services and health education on a sustainable basis to women, men and children in the Mount Washington Valley community regardless of ability to pay. The funds raised will benefit the health center's food pantry.
White Mountain Community Health Center's food pantry is open to the entire community on a walk-in basis Monday through Friday, 9 to 4. Patients can also ask to use the food pantry during their appointment. Ensuring that patients and other community members can access food even when they're struggling financially serves the health center's goal of keeping this community healthy. The health center aims to provide those using the food pantry with items that best match their health-related needs.
"We applaud Hannaford for stepping up to 'Fight Hunger' in an easy and affordable way. When you purchase one of these bags, you help fight hunger through the Hannaford program. Additionally, you help White Mountain Community Health Center combat food deficiency in the Valley though contributing to our food pantry. Two for one, we love that!" said executive director, Patricia McMurry.
White Mountain Community Health Center has a goal of raising $250 through this program during April, which is equivalent to 1,000 bags purchased in support.
